Payne Co-Newcomer of the Year as Fontanez and Hicks Earn PSUAC Honorable Mention

State College, Pa. - Through their hard-work and dedication through the 2015-16 Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball season, freshman guard Jordon Payne (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) has been named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Co-Newcomer of the Year as senior guard Jashaun Fontanez (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and sophomore guard Khari Hicks (East Hills, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) earned PSUAC Honorable Mention.

Payne came to the Lions this season, earning PSUAC Player of the Week the week of November 10th.

The freshman played in 27 games for Greater Allegheny, posting 353 points on 75% (21-of-28) from the foul line, 72 three-pointers with 130 buckets from the floor. Jordon pulled down 103 rebounds while dishing out 66 assists, 47 steals and one block.

In his senior season, Fontanez earned Honorable Mention for his work through the season. Appearing in 25 games, Jashaun added 427 points on 77.4% (103-of-133) of his shots from the free-throw line, 41.8% (146-of-349) from the floor with 32 three-pointers. The guard pulled down 103 boards with 61 assists, 39 steals and a pair of blocks.

Alongside Fontanez, Hicks also earned himself the accolade of PSUAC Honorable Mention for his force on the court. Khari played in 25 games where he put up 296 points from 56.3% (27-of-48) the foul line, 122 buckets from the floor alongside 25 treys. The sophomore put in work through his second season with the blue and white with 88 assists, 79 rebounds, 24 steals and four blocks.

A huge congratulations to these men as they contributed to the overall team record of 14-13, 11-5 PSUAC.
