Lion Men's Basketball Swipes Two Road Wins, 92-74 and 86-62

Hillsboro, Ohio - In a pair of United States Collegiate Athletic Association match-ups over the weekend, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball earned their first two regular season victories of the year over Southern State CC and University of Cincinnati - Clermont, 92-74 and 86-62, respectively.

In Friday's contest over SSCC, the Lions led at half 43-36. 

Freshman guard Jordon Payne (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) bucketed 22 points as he noted six three-pointers. Junior guard Jeremy McMunn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) added a trio of three's as he put up nine points. Sophomore guard Khari Hicks (East Hills, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) denoted 18 points while sophomore forward George Prota (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) put up 12 points.

Saturday brought Cincinnati-Clermont, as they led at half 37-36, ultimately ending in Greater Allegheny's favor, 86-62. GA held UC to just 25 points in the second half.

Payne continued his big weekend with 25 points, six boards and four assists while junior forward Curtis Newby (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) noted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds with an assist. McMunn went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line for a total of 13 points, five rebounds and three assists. Junior guard Moe Alli (Edison, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) pulled down 11 rebounds with eight points.

Greater Allegheny (2-1) travels to NCAA Division II Clarion, Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
