York, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball team broke their nine--game winning streak, Saturday afternoon, in a Penn State University Athletic Conference battle at Penn State York, 102-65.

York zipped up five points before junior guard Jeremy McMunn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) dropped a jumper. Sophomore guard Jordon Payne (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) put up a three and a jumper as York swelled to a 25-7 lead in just over seven minutes of action.

Junior guard Khari Hicks (East Hills, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) broke the silence with a trey before both senior forward Moe Alli (Edison, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) and junior forward Curtis Newby (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) notched a jumper each. Payne accounted for the final 13 points of the first half, consisting of a trio of three-pointers and a pair of jumpers, Greater Allegheny behind 48-27.

Newby and Payne put down foul shots as Payne, Hicks and Newby all hit jumpers. Payne hammered down another trey, 68-43 York. Sophomore guard Juwan Ledbetter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) added three free-throws as junior guard Denzel Boyer-London (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) hit a jumper. Hicks added five points as Newby and Payne both contributed jumpers. Sophomore forward George Prota (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) put up four points while Payne put up a jumper. Newby was the last Lion to score for GA from the foul line, as York held Greater Allegheny scoreless for the final 4:23 of the game. York went on to take the PSUAC win, 102-65.

With the loss, the Lions drop the game by the biggest deficit of the season.

Payne added 50% (11-of-22) of his shots from the floor, including five three-pointers, for a total of 27 points, six rebounds, two steals and an assist. Newby and Hicks both put up ten points each as Newby pulled down six boards, two assists, two blocks and an assist and Hicks with four rebounds, two assists and a steal.

As a team, Greater Allegheny was out-rebounded 46-35 as the men finished 61.5% (8-of-13) from the foul line and 27.4% (23-of-84) from the floor. York managed 57.8% (37-of-64) from the floor. The Lions put down 23 points off second-chance and 14 points off turnovers.

Greater Allegheny (16-5, 10-2 PSUAC) travels to Penn State Fayette, Tuesday night, for the mens final Penn State University Athletic Conference contest of January. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
